About the Event
The 4th annual Ontario Surgical Quality Conference 2018 - on November 2 in Toronto - is where the surgical community exchanges cutting-edge ideas and connects with colleagues from across the province who share a commitment to surgical quality improvement.
At this conference you will:
- Hear from international and local speakers who use data for improvement.
- Be able to submit a storyboard or abstract and share your hospital’s surgical quality improvement journey.
- Have an opportunity to recognize your peers for their contribution to improving surgical care for Ontario patients at our awards ceremony.
The conference is hosted by the Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network (ON-SQIN) – a community of practice of Health Quality Ontario.

Who Should Attend
You should attend this conference if you are a member of the Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network, a hospital surgical team member or other health-care professional involved in surgical quality improvement.
Conference Learning Objectives
- How collaborative teamwork and the use of data and quality initiatives can lead to improved surgical outcomes and meaningful improvement in the care of your surgical patients
- To build on the strengths of the collaborative to accelerate quality improvement
- Engage patients in your quality improvement work.
Conference topics will also include infection reduction strategies, appropriate prescribing and improving your patients’ experiences.

The Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network
The Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network (ON-SQIN) is a Community of Practice that brings together surgical teams from all hospitals and specialities across the province.
ON-SQIN, a community dedicated to better surgical care for patients, was created by surgical leaders and continues to be driven by its members.
